Drugs & Companies

I am quite aware of the marketing strategies that large companies use to promote products. I work for a large company that takes great pride in creating catchy marketing materials for each product. It's not a surprise that the product will be shown in the best light. With some products, this is less of a concern than with others. Drugs, medicines, vitamins, foods, or any product that is marked for human consumption... these are products that consumers should be very concerned about marketing strategies. Unfortunately, an increasing number of press releases address the careful selection of favorable data and studies by drug companies, in order to promote products. The impacts are far-reaching and harmful to the consumer. When reading information on a product label, be wary. When reading studies on a drug, always ask who funded the study. In this day and age, it is important that the consumer takes initiative to find information on marketed consumables.
